2019 Ram 1500 vs 2019 Ford F-150 near Spring, TX

Pickup trucks have been ingrained in American culture, and year after year, trucks have continued to improve upon greatness. The problem now becomes, which truck should you be purchasing. There are two trucks that have stayed at the top of their game. These vehicles include the 2019 Ram 1500 and the 2019 Ford F-150. The Ram 1500 was fully redesigned for the 2019 model year, and it features additional rear-seat space, a mild hybrid power system, and even an increase in both towing capacity and payload. The Ford F-150 hasn’t been redesigned, but it does feature a new diesel-powered engine, new upgrades for the Limited and Raptor trims, and the addition of forward collision warning as a standard feature. Keep reading down below to figure out which truck you should be driving home.

2019 Ram 1500 Power & Handling

In order to give you the power you’re looking for with a pickup truck, Ram is offering two spectacular engines to choose from. One of these engines is a 3.6-liter V6, which gives you the opportunity to produce 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. Along with this engine is a mild-hybrid system, which gives you better fuel economy. The other engine is a 5.7-liter V8, which works hard to get you 410 pound-feet of torque and 395 horsepower. You’ll also be able to choose between whether or not you want two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Either way, you can expect to get an 8-speed automatic transmission.

2019 Ford F-150 Power & Handling

Ford definitely brings many engines to the table to try and compete with what the Ram 1500 offers. The base engine is a weak 3.3-liter V6, which can only get you 265 lb-ft of torque and 290 horsepower. You’ll also find a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter option, which will get you 400 lb-ft of torque and 325 hp. There is a diesel option, which is a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6, which should offer 440 lb-ft of torque and 250 hp. One engine, the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6, gives you different measurements depending on the trim level you get it with. Finally, a 5.0-liter V8 engine offers 400 lb-ft of torque and 395 horsepower. While there are more engines available, they fall short of what the Ram 1500 can give you.

2019 Ram 1500 Features & Design

The feature selection offered with the 2019 Ram 1500 is impressive, and one of the reasons why it was named the best truck to buy in 2019. The standard trim, Tradesman, includes features like a locking tailgate, vinyl upholstery and flooring, air conditioning, dual USB inputs, cruise control, automatic headlights, an auxiliary audio jack, push-button ignition, a 6-speaker audio system, heated side mirrors, a five-inch touchscreen, a 40/20/40-split folding bench seat, a Class III hitch receiver, and 18-inch steel wheels. Another trim, Rebel, adds features like an electronic-locking rear axle, LED fog lights and headlights, front bucket seats, skid plates, specialized off-road tires, hill descent control, front tow hooks, a power-adjustable driver seat, and a larger driver information display. One higher trim, Laramie, includes keyless entry, front and rear parking sensors, driver-seat position memory, a heated steering wheel, and leather upholstery.

2019 Ford F-150 Features & Design

There are a few trims offered with the F-150. The base trim XL, comes with features like air conditioning, a rearview camera, trailer sway control, vinyl flooring, a 4.2-inch central display screen, a driver information display, automatic high beams, a 4-speaker radio, automatic braking, and pre-wired trailer connections. Another option, XLT, includes features like an 8-inch touchscreen, fog lights, carpeting, additional interior storage bins, FordPass Wi-Fi connectivity, alloy wheels, driver and passenger seat lumbar adjustments, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a keypad entry system, and Sync 3. One of the higher trims, Platinum, adds aluminum interior trim, wood interior trim, 20-inch wheels, and power-deployable running boards. While these features aren’t bad, it’s hard to keep up with what the Ram 1500 has to offer.

Conclusions

The Ram 1500 is the more reliable truck that gives you the features you want with the powerful engines you deserve. There is no better option in the market today. Interested in learning more?
