Jeep Compass vs Honda CR-V near Spring, TX

Are you trying to find an SUV to add to your life and make it easier? We are here to compare two well-known SUVs and help you figure out which one will actually make every day takes hassle-free. One of these vehicles is the Jeep Compass, which has always been known for its off-roading capabilities, its great tech interface, the high-quality materials found in the interior, and the trim level lineup that offers unique takes on the Compass. Already the Compass is shining. The other SUV we’re checking out is the Honda CR-V which brings its all every year. You’ll find a roomy interior, a comfortable ride, thoughtful storage areas, and a powerful engine. Are you ready to find out more about these two options? Keep reading as we figure out which one you should be driving home.

Jeep Compass Power & Handling

With the Compass you are guaranteed one standard engine that will never let you down. Jeep has worked hard to create this engine to make sure that no matter the terrain or environment, you and your passengers will drive confidently. This engine is a 2.4-liter inline-4, which can crank out around 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. There are a few different configurations surrounding this engine. A six-speed manual transmission is available, as is a six-speed automatic transmission. Once you get to higher trims, like Limited and Trailhawk, you’ll find a nine-speed automatic. Throughout you’ll have the choice between two-wheel and four-wheel drive.

Honda CR-V Power & Handling

While there are two engines offered with the CR-V, they are not nearly as reliable or configurable as the Compass’s engine. The first is a 2.4-liter inline-4, which creates 184 hp and 180 pound-feet of torque. It comes with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The other option is a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-4, which can create 179 pound-feet of torque and 190 horsepower. This vehicle has no intention of being sporty, and it absolutely shows, especially with the standard CVT automatic.

Jeep Compass Features & Design

Four unique trims are offered with the impressive Jeep Compass. Standard features, which can be found throughout the lineup, include a seven-inch touchscreen display, 16-inch wheels, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a USB port, air conditioning, Bluetooth, and a 6-speaker sound system. Once you start going up the trim ladder, you’ll find an option like Latitude, which includes keyless ignition and entry, larger wheels than the standard wheels, upgraded simulated leather and cloth upholstery, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The most comprehensively equipped model is Limited. This option gets you automatic dual-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel, upgraded exterior trim, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, satellite radio, leather upholstery, and 18-inch wheels.

Honda CR-V Features & Design

Along with the Compass, the CR-V also comes with four trim levels to choose from. Standard features include LED running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, two USB ports, a height-adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control, Bluetooth, a rearview camera, a 5-inch color display, and a 4-speaker audio system. Another trim, EX, comes with heated mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, fog lights, and a retractable cargo cover. One of the highest trims, Touring, adds in navigation, LED headlights, hands-free functionality with the liftgate, roof rails, ambient interior lighting, and automatic wipers. There is a serious lack of off-roading equipment with the CR-V.

Conclusions

As you can easily tell, the Jeep Compass is perfect in every way. With off-roading capabilities and a comfortable interior, it’s hard to imagine how Jeep could ever improve on this already impressive machine. While the CR-V put up a good fight, it was never meant to go anywhere besides the pavement.
