At Texan, we enjoy being part of the local community, as well as supporting local organizations! Below are a few events that we have supported!
Texan Supports the Humble Police All-You-Can-Eat Crawfish Festival
Texan recently helped sponsor the 23rd All-You-Can-Eat Crawfish Festival. The festival is put on by the Humble Police department, and included 7,500 pounds of the crustacean, from the Cajun Country Cookers crew. The event featured an “assembly-line” structure at each crawfish station – with one person scooping the crawfish, the second setting a plate down, the third adding a piece of corn and the fourth person completing the meal by dishing out the potatoes. Brian Peters, a Texans linebacker showed up to support the cause after Tom Huberty of Texan Dodge invited him; he estimated that he had consumed 15 pounds of crawfish. There was also live music, a dj, a live auction starting, and a silent auction. Proceeds of the event went toward scholarships for 34 local students that will be attending Lone Star College-Kingwood.
For the month of December we were involved in two great programs. We were able to work with children who are in CPS custody placed in kinship homes, and we are working with victims of sex-trafficking. All the children we are helping are in our community. Employees were able to sponsor a child and purchase stuff for them off their wish list. Texan also was involved in an amazing charity called Brennan’s Buddies. We were so pleased to be able to donate toys to children in the medical center who have cancer. Below are some pictures from our events – enjoy!
